Carrying bat

In high school fastpitch , what is the rule about carrying your bat with you to a base on a hit?

You won't find one. Why would you need one?

If someone uses a bat to interfere with a play, there is a rule. If someone uses a bat as a weapon, there is a rule. Besides that, what is the issue?

To my knowledge and understanding, there is only one rule set that addresses that. When high school fastpitch starts using U-trip slowpitch rules it will be a new issue.

Are you running for "master of understatement"? ;)

ASA in one of the last rule supplements addresses it. Wording such that there is no penalty for a BR carrying a bat to first base or any base.

Also some wording about what happens if used to interfere.

But it is addressed - not as a rule specifically.

Yeah....don't play UTrip HS ball.....;)

NFHS has no rule......and never understood the USSSA one......

Completely legal, as others have alluded. Frankly, I much prefer some high school players I've personally experienced who have contributed to my long list of injuries to carry their bat instead of releasing it at my arms/shins/face mask...

I'll 2nd that Manny A--

I actually had to bench a player last year who flung her bat back at the catcher and me after the warning for the first time. I know it was not done on purpose, but she and her coach were given notice.
