Does Dixie Girls adopt the ASA banned bats list or do they publish their own? I have tried to find some reference about Dixie banned bats other than the basic rules. I assume Dixie's requirement that a bat must be from a Dixie "Approved Manufacturer" is not the same as their list of "Official Suppliers".
I believe our local organization has the two terms confused and are disallowing some bats which are ASA approved.
Can anyone provide me a reference to a Dixie specific banned list or a statement that Dixie adopts the ASA list.

Your District or State Rep should have the list, and should make it available to all umpires. That is who to contact. We are issued the list at the first of the season here, and then the amended one at tournament time.

We were told by our District Director that Easton, Worth, DeMarini, Louisville Slugger and Rawlings are the only legal bat companies. My understanding is that Dixie only certifies bat manufacturers not individual bats. Bats must also included the wording "OFFICIAL SOFTBALL” and/or "YOUTH SOFTBALL".

That is correct. And, it is not based on some kind of product performance, but rather who pays their annual fee to be on the "approved" list.

Does Dixie know abou the hazards perceived by everyone else?

Before I posted the question, I pored over Dixie and other orgs bat rules. Based on that research and responses here, seems Dixie is more about fees than safety. That's a shame. Hard to believe Dixie would allow a bat that is banned by others due to safety issues just because a manufacturer paid their fee.
Say is isn't so!!!

Unfortunately it is so. I know that it sounds like a contradiction from an organization that has so many "safety" rules in its rule book, but fees seem to speak volumes with the folks at DSI!
