Been snet one my a Mr garcia but I need the diagram for Slowpitch HFHS Middle & High School. If I am correct the pitching is 40ft and bases at 60ft?

More importantly I needed the diagram for the grounds man, as you guess not many grounds men mark out softball diamonds on this Island :)

Bob if you read this thread thank you for your e-mail, I have replied

Do you not have an NFHS rule book?

If you have access to the nfhs.arbitersports.com website the diagram is there under the softball publications as well.

ART. 2 . . . Mandated field distances are designated as follows:

a. Bases shall be 60 feet apart for games using the 12-inch ball and 65 feet for games using the 11-inch ball.

b. (F.P.) The rear tip of home plate and the front edge of the pitcher's plate shall be 43 feet for female fast pitch softball and 46 feet for male fast pitch softball.

c. (S.P.) The rear tip of home plate and the front edge of the pitcher's plate shall be 46 feet for males or females playing slow pitch softball when using the 12-inch ball, and 50 feet for female slow pitch using the 11-inch ball.

NOTE: By state association adoption in slow pitch, the pitching distance shall be 50 feet when using a 12-inch ball.

d. (F.P.) A circle 16 feet in diameter shall be drawn with its center at the midpoint of the front edge of the pitcher's plate.

Thanks you guys you've been really helpful.

No I do not have a HFHS rule book (and to be cynical, if I did would I be asking! ;))

It's a long story how the American/International schools operate in the UK & Europe, but the short of it is that they are all on Eater break and I have to get the diamond up and running for our 1st game on the 17th.

I only begun coaching the school last season through some 'gentle' persuasion from the athletics director.

Still think I am a better umpire than coach :)

Cheers guys
