She is nice to look at, but I don't think that communication is a strong point. Now she & Nuveman did have a couple of interesting exchanges - getting both a top pitcher & a top catcher talking about a sequence or decision - and those were pretty good.

Did she speak? I was just watching! Yes she's pretty, and all did a fine job IMHO! Much nicer than John Madden, or Howard Cosell.

BTW, some of the spots with the players, and parents were also nicely done. I thought all the girls were cute, and all played well, and deserve a "JOB WELL DONE"

Well it was channel 24.

Having daughters, and working with girls for some time, I was glad to see the national coverage fast pitch recieved from this tourney. Saw good ball played, and enjoyed watching as many games as possible. Gave up 2,or 3 MLB games, fast pitch was more interesting. To each his own.....

With so little softball coverage on TV, I can't imagine those doing announcing get to do it often. I completely understand it they seemed a bit stiff or mechanically at times. If you want to see someone that would truely be awkward, put me in front of a nationwide audience. Accidentally saying eight foot diameter when I meant eight foot radius would be nothing compared to the other things I would flub up.

Come to think of it, it is nothing. I wonder how many of us would have caught it if using "radius" improperly was not one of the regular NFHS test questions.

I, too, enjoyed the softball coverage. Jenny added a lot to the broadcast, and was very easy on the eyes ;-}

I was amused when she was talking about one of the pitcher's (can't remember which one) strikeout ratios, though. She said "She's got 20 strikeouts in 14 innings of work. That's 2 strikeouts per inning."
Must be blonde math........I can live with a minor mistake like that anytime. I hope they bring her back next year!!

She'll be too busy with the Olympic team this time next year, as will Nuvemann.

I'm aware they receive little practice, but someone should tell them that is is not necessary to fill every second of air time with inane chatter. Many of the stupid comments were not on something difficult, but relatively simple which they should have known as players. ESPN has taken a hit on this year after year and you would think by now, they would have gotten the idea that being a player doesn't necessarily make an individual knowledgeable of the game.

And yes, I did know the difference between radius and diameter and recognized it as any high school graduate should have.

Don't you want it to be like a MLB game?

Wouldn't know, don't watch MLB games with the sound up too often. However, did catch a recent interview with Harry Kalas. In no uncertain terms he stated that there is too much emphasis on "dead air" during a telecast (not radio). Many of us do not need someone to tell me what I am seeing, though I'm quite used to that on the ball field. Words can often ruin a good picture.

Sounds like it to me. Where were your wives during all of this?
I can hear it now: "Honey, what game are you watching now?"
"Dear, just the NCAA CWS, and boy is it ever exciting"

OMQ, I watched the final game with my wife, and 12 year old daughter(working on the inspiration), shoulda heard my wifes comments on Nuveman.....LOL....GREAT game, btw
