A slap is a swing, not a bunt.
It's a plate umpire call, like any pitch or swing.

Q. "Would you agree and NOT call the batter out as a FU if you thought it was a bunt but the PU just called it foul."
A. Absolutely, never overrule.

Q. "What if you weren't sure about his rules knowledge?"
A. Same answer, let your partner ask for help if needed.
