UIC Umpire evaluation form
Anyone have an umpire evaluation form? I have one but it's not very detailed and I was wondering what others here use when evaluating their umpires. If you don't have a form, what are some of the key points you use when doing your evaluations?
Thanks! |
Mine is a relatively simple one, and geared for doing two and three man crews. It uses a number rating system, 1 being the lowest and 5 being the highest, in the following areas:
Appearance (uniform and personal) Physical Condiitioning Overall Field Presence Handling difficult situations Rules knowledge and application Game control Hustle Also, there are fields for the following plate mechanics: Head position on balls and strikes Position in making fair/foul calls Position on plays Movement Timing and voice in making a call Third strike mechanic Consistency of the zone Signals Then there are the following field mechanics fields: Position iwth bases empty Position with runners on Position on plays Movement Steals, pivots, pick-offs Timing and voice Signals Then there are the following fields for "crewness:" Rotations Communication with partners Handling difficult situations That is pretty much it. |
