I'll be in the Burlington, NC, NUS. Anyone else?

I always recommend these to all umpires, new and veteran.

I noticed that they are no longer 2-day schools. Looks like they've added a day (hey, I like it). Any ideas why, Irish? :)

I don't think they need to put it on the schedule for that... :D

I believe it is still a two day school; but it starts the Friday night before the actual camp (Saturday and Sunday) to include a meet and greet social hour.

I agree and believe it is to encourage the camaraderie among the group and, hopefully, to encourage people to spend the night as opposed to driving in and out of town each day. It is a wonder what can be garnered outside of the classroom.

...inspired by the party planners of Region 15...

:D

For what it is worth there is an error on the list, for Region 13 the school will be held in Loveland, CO ( Colorado ) not CA.

And here I thought CA hijacked Loveland so they can have more snow.

Hanging out in the hotel lobby and knocking back cold ones with our state commish probably furthered my ASA career more than the clinic did! ;)

I last attended one of these in 2000. I found that I got far more out of the hotel room session - with several state uic's, all 3 of the national staff members running the school and the ISF & D1 umpires present. The school itself was good, the 1-on-1 sessions and others in the comp suite that Sonny ran were tremendous.
Because of living in Pennsylvania's ASA district 4, it did little to further me in ASA, but it did a whole lot for me as an umpire.
I wholeheartedly recommend the national school to anyone & everyone.

edited to correct some of the fat-fingering I did.
