I just got an email in from Merle Butler, the UIC of ASA.
He states emphatically that any recertification mark must be permanent and embossed, no stickers are allowed.
I had emailed him after some of you guys had said that your association or state were accepting stickers on the bats.
So, just to let you know.....if you accept bats with stickers, you are taking on a lot of liability that is your alone.

That reminds me of helmet NOCSAE seals. Besides the embossed ones, the rule says "permanent" seals. I see two kinds of non-embossed, a silver colored sticker and a colorless one. Both of these are securely glued, but I think they could be scraped off. Do they count as "permanent"? Has anyone seen a "temporary" one as an example?

I have seen some that are "paper like" and not a good plastic type of manufactured material. If it is a good solid one that isn't going to rub off or fade, that is good enough for me.
At our NFHS state rules clinic, it was emphasized that for us, it must be an embossed marking which would rule out the stickers, same thing with the catcher's helmet marking.

I guess we better get that clarified.
BTW, may I copy your home page flag handoff?

I got that graphic in an email and don't really know where it came from other than what I have listed on the site.
It is up there for anyone as far as I am concerned, have at it.
