I am going to buy a +Pos Lightweight Mask (not the SUL as they are out of stock). I am looking for advice:
There is a double or single bar frame style? Anyone have preferences? The single frame appears to give more throat protection? Is this just an illusion in the catalog? With the extended style frames, do you need to have a throat protector? What is the best harness to use...traditional 3 point adjustable, T-style or lightweight harness? I am thinking of the smooth finish kangaroo leather pads over the suede, any thoughts? I'm thinking going with black frame with black pads...maybe the black pads would look better over time...true? Don't worry...I have already got the rest of the gear, so you won't have to face questions like these again. I would appreciate some comments as I plan to have the mask for awhile. Oh yeah, I'm ordering it Friday by noon. Please help. THANKS. |
miszta,
Borrow an old one and wait on the SUL, you will not regret having it, especially if you work a lot of plates in tourney games. JMHO, glen BTW, welcome to the board. [Edited by whiskers_ump on Mar 6th, 2003 at 11:18 PM] |
Gotta Agree.......WAIT on the SUL. It is awesome!!!
If you don't want to wait, then check out http://www.Honigs.com. They have better equipment, better prices, and are much easier to deal with.....IMHO |
Well, here are my opinions on some of the questions you asked...

Mask Stuff
Even if it is not required because of the mask style, always keep a neck protector made for that mask with you. Many leagues/umpire associations require them anyway.
