Bad News.... Good News
 

In response to a call from a friend,

The bad news:
I agreed to umpire a Jr. Little League baseball game at 1:00 this afternoon.

The good news:
The end of the World is scheduled to come to an end at 1:00 this afternoon!!!!

How can I guy be so lucky?

I think working a Jr league small ball game IS the end of the world, no? :p

Coincidence? I think not!

Good news: After a record setting wet spring that cancelled about 3/4 of my games, we are sunny and 82 degrees today.

Bad news: I didn't have any games scheduled today.

Good news: Assigner emailed and said I was needed for a 10:00 game this morning.

Bad news: I show up at the fields and there are no teams.

Good news: Just as I'm pulling out of the parking lot a league official shows up and says the games are on.

Bad news: Games are at noon so I have two hours to kill.

Good news: At least I'll get to do a game!

Bad news: Its a 10U game.

Good news: They pay 50 bucks for a solo umpire!

That depends on whether you are to be paid before or after the game :D

You don't get the Little League thing, do you?
It is a gratis event.......

BTW, its over in less than 2 hrs, was relalatively painless, the world didnt end and I just finished my 3rd hatteras red.
