Interference, interference, everywhere I see interference.

I had a girls' H.S. varsity DH today. I was BU in the first and the PU in the second. Home team loses first game 5-3, and the second 7-4.

The Home team had a runner on 2B in the 3rd, 4th, and 5th innings and that runner committed interference against F6 in all three of those innings.

In the 2nd game, with the bases loaded and two out in the bottom of the 7th inning, the Home team's runner on 1B committed interference on F4 to end the game.

Let me guess.....the coach insisted that the runner has the right of way?

Absolutely not. The HC was absolutely beside himself because these were the 3rd and 4th games in a row that his players had committed this offense. He had been coaching his players to run behind the fielder if necessary to avoid the fielder but they just couldn't get it into their heads to do it.

Guess "coaching" isn't exactly working too well with them.

My baby (now 19) while as a Jr. in Hs as a F3 obstructed a runner going to 2nd.

She shouted to me "Sorry Dad"........

Glen "Whiskers Ump" would have been proud of Katie.........

I have not talked to Glen in a year or so.......I need to go up and see him.

I am traversing the country at the moment.....maybe sometime in Mid-June.

So, that comment you made earlier in reference to Glen's attitude toward your daughter was not past tense as in "final" past tense??

Nope.....he is still alive and well to the best of my knowledge. See Steve's reference to Glen being on facebook.
