Restricted vs Ejection
I have a question for my fellow umpires. I've read ASA, NFHS, and USSSA rule books and can't find the answer.
I know when a coach is "ejected" from a game they must completely leave the facility out of sight & sound. If a coach is "restricted to the bench" can they still have contact with the team? ie: give pitching signals to the catcher or yell out to the players to give positioning instructions? |
yep--as long they are not talking to me.

ASA does not restrict players to the dugout, per se. They do DQ players, and they are "restricted to the dugout." However, they are also allowed to coach the bases.
You're either ejected, DQ'ed, or still in the game. |
