A new first for me

Working the plate yesterday, in a JV game, and took a SHOT directly in the sternum - right at the edge of Pro 9 CP.....and ALL I can say is that it is certainly an interesting experience not being able to BREATHE for a few seconds  ....I can't imagine what would have happened if I had one of those little CPs on....or even NO CP....

Funny thing was after a few seconds, I was pretty good, and by the end of the inning, was totally back to what passes for my 'normal'.....:p

Been there, brother, been there. We have guys in our association that wear nothing but a mask. It WILL catch up to them.

I wouldn't call right at the edge of the Pro 9 "directly in the sternum" ... The "little CP" (Honig's K2) provides great protection of the sternum; not so much the rest of the chest, and none for the belly. But the kind of shot that you took is one of the reasons I probably would not buy the K2 again.

That was kind of what I was thinking. My P9 covers all of my sternum area, and I am a big boy!

Putting this in the proper thread.

This is the nice thing about the hardshell protectors like the Wilsons. You don't feel even the sternum shots.
