Trojan - Computer Help Needed
 

I recently thought that my email address got spoofed or hacked. I have since found out that it is some sort of trojan horse or malware that sends out emails from my address book.

The emails themselves do not seem to be malicious (I have two programs checking for viruses in my email and the email was sent to two of my accounts with no issues found)......just some sort of financial or money making scheme. I am assuming if you click on the link of the emails, you may get the same trojan......but I have no idea.

Thank goodness they were not porn sites as they all went out to my daughters........:)

I have run full anti-virus, anti-spyware and anti-malware scans and have come up with nothing. I have dumped my address book and the only fake email that has gone out has been with a lady friend of mine that I recently emailed.

I know that this program sent emails to Mike (Irishmafia), mick (God rest his soul), and Brad (administrator).

I appologize to all of them if this caused them any issue.

Does anyone know how I can get rid of this problem?

Any help would be appreciated.

Check your PM box...

Best way is to re-build the computer:
1. Do a complete backup
2. Re-install Windows and re-partition the hard drive.
3. Re-install your apps and restore your data.

It is a pain, but often it is the only way to truly resolve these problems.
Especially because you have to make sure you have backup of the installation discs for all of your apps.

Might have a rootkit problem... if your scans are coming up clean. I would only recommend a re-format as a last resort. (formatting a pc is such a huge pain)

Run ATF cleaner then TDssKiller then Malwarebytes.

As a technician for our school system.. I have to do this 100's of times a week. (dont get me started...sigh)
