Newspaper article

Yes,they are talking about me,but some of it they added for effect of the story
Midview takes advantage of Avon mistakes for WSC win - morningjournal.com

RKBUmp Thu Apr 14, 2011 08:59am

So whats the real story?

NEohioref Thu Apr 14, 2011 09:15am

The only thing i dont agree with is when the article stated the Midview player screeched in pain. I know the ball hit someone but i only saw it hit the catcher in the arm. I did ask my partner what he saw and he said it hit the catcher as well .The batter never appeared to be in pain i called the pitch a ball and it was live. As far as the ball hitting the bat, that bat was not moving and becomes apart of the field and the ball is live. 7.4.13 situation b in the case book

Sounds like the paper had more of a beef with you than the coaches did.

Idiots. Even by the description by the paper, they sound like good calls.

NEohioref Thu Apr 14, 2011 09:53am

NCASAUMP, it does appear that way here is another article from the other newspaper in town by one of the veteran writers of HS softball in town:
Softball: Midview makes it look easy, capitalizes on Avon mistakes The Chronicle-Telegram - Lorain County's leading news source

This is the way it should be..

First article says player Thomas was 4-4 batting. Box score in the second article shows her being 3-4.

First article says an outfielder "miffed" a ball. I wonder what she did to piss it off?

Good observation Bret...lol !

The second article also mentions that she also got on base on an error. The writer for the first article probably thought that counted as a hit (he should have known better).

Dang... I'm sitting here stunned.

Oh, no, not about the calls.
  • Two newspapers covering the same area.
  • Both wrote an article about a high school softball game that wasn't a playoff game.
  • One even posted the full box score.
Man, would people around here kill for coverage like that.

But hey, about your calls... sounds like you did your job and care to do it right. Enough for me.
