Unsportsmanlike Conduct

Had an opposing coach try to tell one of my players who peaked once at the catcher that by USSSA rules she could be automatically ejected for that action. She only did it once when catcher made a lot of noise repositioning and I don't teach them to peek or advocate it, but....

My B.S. meter was registering off the charts on his comment. Normally I would just blow it off, but this was an experienced coach, who likes our team, likes the player specifically and was offering it up after the game as advice, not to change a call or gripe.

I told her that an umpire can eject you for unsportsmanlike conduct for anything they deem unsportsmanlike even rolling your eyes if they are in the mood, but there is no way that peeking at the catcher's setup position is specifically defined as unsportsmanlike in any rule book.

My best guess is he witnessed a player ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct and maybe didn't get the whole story on why at the time or the kid ejected sold it as something it wasn't
