Fast Pitch Game last night, Runner on 2nd. Batter hits to SS who overthrows 1st and ball rolls in dugout. Girl on 2nd is standing like a statue on 2nd. Ump puts batter on 2nd and Runner on 3rd. Coach says it doesnt matter if you are on the base or 1 step off the runner on 2nd should have went home (1+1) and Batter to 2nd. What is correct. I tend to agree with the call that she hadnt passed 2nd so she only gets one..

Speaking ASA, you were all three wrong.

There is no 1+1 (base going to plus one more) in the ASA rule book. The ASA rule is two bases from the position of the runner at the time of the throw. The position of the runner was 2B. Two bases from 2B is home. The proper award would have been R1 scores, BR on 2B.

R1 on 2nd gets home............BR gets 2nd.........

Last base legally aquired at the time of the throw............

See ASA 8-6-G
