Umpire Interference

Left-handed batter swings and misses a slow change up for strike three. In eerie slow motion, the ball rolls out of the catcher’s mitt and kind of just hangs there, right in front of me. With out thinking my right hand automatically snakes from its protective zone and snags the ball out of the air. My mind is screaming, “What the *many bad words* are you doing?” As a reflex, my arm jerks back, but my hand still maintained its grip on the ball. The ball sails over my head to the backstop. The runner quite easily cruises down to first. I had no choice but to call Umpire Interference and call the runner out.

Man I feel about two inches tall.

Good, that way the coach can squash you like a bug. ;)

What rule did you use to determine the BR out on a U3K? Yeah, I know it is a no-win situation, just curious.

BTW, have no problem with either way you went on this one.
