What's on your iPod?
so...anyone other than SRW have Britney Spears on their iPod?
|
Mine has a bizarre mix of artists that most people have never heard of, it seems. A little of nearly every genre, as well.
|
Oh...and no Britney!
|
Eff. No.
Though I do have Shakira on mine. Hey, it's for the wife (both she and Shakira are Hispanic/Lebanese mix). :D SRW, we've gotta talk, man. |
Well I guess .. me and skah finally have something in common. I have something from just about every genre from Johnny Horton to Roger Miller, Sam Cooke, Janis Joplin, Toby Keith, Temptations, Pink Floyd, ACDC Metalica Linkin Park Alabama, Eminem to Topoc .. I have it all...
..But not a single song of britney spears. |
Right now, Christmas music, from Manheim Steamroller to the Tran Siberian Orchastra, Julie Andrews to Brenda Lee, Byan Adams to Bing Crosby, Waitresses to Judy Garland, Burl Ives to Luciano Pavarotti, Sergio Franchi to Bobby Helms and let's not forget, Gene Autry
Last month or so it was Santana, John Mayall, Gatemouth Brown, The Funky Meters, The Radiators, Pine Leaf Boys, Better Than Ezra, Muddy Waters, Pete Seeger, Doc Watson, Little Feet, Marcia Ball, Tab Benoit, Robert Cray, Dr. John, Dumpstafunk, Johnny Winter..... and a bundle of other bands |
no brit????
|
I have a huge variety, but the two best play lists are my pre-game, which is full of pump up music, and the post game I haven't had a chance to use yet, which I have titled 'tossed coach'. I also have a 'drinking' play list full of irish pub songs and any song I could find that referred to alcohol ie. "I like Beer" by Tom T. Hall. No Britney though.

I've got an iPod Classic, so I never take anything off. Abridged list: AC/DC, Aerosmith, Alice in Chains, Anthrax, BB King and Clapton, Barenaked Ladies, Beastie Boys, Beatles, Beck, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Bill Idol, Billy Joel, Black Crowes, Black Eyed Peas, Bloodhound Gang, Bon Jovi... Well, you get the idea. It's a mix. A big mix. |
I do have one Britney song out of 1700. I currently do not have it on a playlist. It was played once in 2005.
My favorites are Yes, Jethro Tull, Massive Attack, Superchick, Charlie Roth(my brother), Charlie Parr, John Elliot, Dave Matthews, Led Zeplin, P!nk, Pink Floyd, Clapton, Ray Bonneville, Dixie Chicks, Darrel Scott, BB King among MANY others. I love music. |

Recently listened to artists (apart from the Christmas tunes I have been listening to lately): Tomer Yosef, Company of Thieves, Zee Avi, Mishka, Ali Farka Toure, Vieux Farka Toure (Ali's son), Jaimee Paul, Los Hollywood, Chris Duarte, Harmonica Shah, Big Bill Broonzy, Cage the Elephant, Ida Maria, Alela Diane, Adie Grey, Rodrigo y Gabriela, The Mumlers, Asa, Maurizio Pollini, Bob Dylan, Diane Birch, Julia Fischer, Asa, Laura Izibor, Tony Bennett....and many others. |
I've never owned one, and I don't think I've ever listened to one. I have no idea how to put music in an iPod.

Ok, so I think I need to explain.

For the rest of my listening, add earlier Jazz, Swing, Gypsy Jazz, etc, etc. Also not mentioned previously (and somewhat outside of the Jazz world)would be Bob Wills, Johnny Gimble, Gram Parsons, Emmy Lou Harris, Lefty Frizzel, Willie Nelson, Roy Rogers, Asleep at the Wheel, .......... |

"A Night in Tunisia" "Barney Kessel Radio" "BeBop Radio" "Bye Bye Blackbird" The Byrds Radio Cake Radio Celtic Woman Charlie Christian Radio Cracow Klezmier Radio Dan Hicks Radio Django Reinhardt Radio and that's just thru "D" |

FWIW, if I did own one, I probably would load it up with the Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Ramones, B***hole Surfers, Circle Jerks, Dirty Rotten Imbeciles, Sex Pistols, Gun Club, X, Joy Division, Damned, Iggy Pop, etc. Maybe throw on some Texas music like Joe "King" Carrasco, the Judys, the Dishes, and Rank and File. It wouldn't bother me if SRW did have Britney on his iPod. Heck, I have a Loverboy album somewhere in my basement :o. |

Do any of you know where I can get ' Be Bop Buffet" by Maynard Ferguson? That is the one song I am missing that I would love to have.

Eclectic Collection
From a-ha to ZZ Top and 18457 songs in between, nearly everything from Ernest Tubb to Celine Dion and Pantera, have between 10 to 15 movies that I rotate in and out. But then I was a disc jockey for 22 years and even owned a record store (remember records) in the 80's. Plus have three teen-aged daughters that keep me hopping into the new millenium.
P.S guilty have a bunch of Britney songs and even have Adam Lambert |

thanks Shah. Got it, now my collection is complete, for about a minute anyhow.

You're welcome. I have come to the realization, many years ago, that I will never have a complete collection no matter how hard I try, even if I had the money to buy this collection. |

OK, I'll give you a hint. He rode a horse named Trigger.:D |

Roy Rogers | bio First time I saw the band was at SunFest in West Palm Beach. Granted, it was about a dozen years ago, but he's still good. |

Well and truth be told, he could be on my play list, as his style is represented, just haven't gotten around to him. Coincidently, he played here (Sebastian, FL) - a free little Sunday afternoon thing. Unfortunately, I was in Gainesville watching my daughter graduate (along with Stacey Nelson, Tim Teabow and a few thousand others..... (Proud father - I had to stick that in):D |

Wow! You must have never played them. Otherwise they would have jammed on the 10th play and ended up, like all the rest, in the trash. |
and NO, dang it, I didn't get an ipod for Christmas (or Chanukah either).
I did get an XM Radio which I am trying to figure out how to install... |

I just got an iPod of my own Monday. I already put together a playlist of music for driving to games, mostly classic rock and country. |
