And here, this sounds like a tournament that's more up Madison's alley than Milwaukee...

Nope, not working that tourney, but if they'd buy my beer, food, airfare and rental car, I wouldn't mind going home to see my folks and call a few games. I don't care if the players are gay.

Ha! It thoundth thuper! If you scroll halfway down it looks like the "Diamond Divas" are the crew already selected and they're working four man... I mean four uh. I'm suddenly very uncomfortable and NO I'M NOT WORKING IT. I feel dirty. I need a shower.

Do we really want to go down the gay bashing route here ?

If yah'll promise not to gay bash on the softball forum, I promise not to get all uppity and give my spiel on stupid people and their inability to accept others that are different then them.

Can you be more ignorant???? regular ASA softball rules, its not like youre required to suck a dick every time you get to first base....

anyways, I actually know a couple of guys playing in it, the top gay league teams are like 'B' "straight" mens rec league teams. The one thing I do know is that they take the games waaaaaaay too seriously.

Dutch Alex Fri Aug 28, 2009 06:09am

OK, I know Europe is far to liberal on this.

However rumor in the Neth.'s are that for the national Beijing-team the best dutch catcher had to stay home in favor for a lesbian one.
People overhere don't like that selection-procedure.

The dutch "runner-up 2008" has over 50% lesbians on their roster!
We don't care who they love, as long as they're playing ball by the rules!

As I've said: we're to liberal, but the Pope stoll loves us. "Dank U wel for die Blume!":D

Well I guess ignorance is in the eye of the reader hoss!

I have never heard of this, and only thought it was interesting. No where did I see that "regular ASA rules" were to be used. I didn't find if this was to be an ASA, U-TRIP, or other type, or if NAGAAA has there own ruleset.

So yes I guess I could have been more ignorant. I could be you!

Ease up, guys...

As far as anyone should be concerned, it's just another softball tournament. If it truly bothers you, then don't accept the assignment.

greymule Fri Aug 28, 2009 09:15am

I do know they don't play by YSISF rules. Definitely not.

For several years I assigned and worked a women's modified league. The figure generally agreed upon was 70%. Some of the natural "ribbing" throughout the games was dedicated to "conversion" attempts of one kind or another. It was actually pretty funny.

IRISHMAFIA Fri Aug 28, 2009 11:50am

Personally, I was a firm believer one of the things the military got right was the don't ask, don't tell policy.

After all, why would anybody care? Do I know people who have different sexual preferences than me? Probably, but I don't care. Do I have friends who have different sexual preferences than me? Probably, but I don't care. Do I have relatives that have different sexual preferences than me? Probably, but I don't care. Do I work softball games that involve people who have different sexual preferences than me? Probably, but ........you get the idea.

And if everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, addressed this non-issue with indifference, would anyone really care?

This is a no brainer of a non-issue. And if you are offended in any manner whether you consider yourself pro or con, conservative or liberal, tough. Get a life and a sense of humor. P.O.O.P.

It is my observation that the agenda groups are among the most intolerant of all.

Rachel Fri Aug 28, 2009 12:47pm

I agree with Mike. Not my business. Don't ask don't tell is another story. People have the right to be who they are.

Dakota: There are intolerant groups are at both ends of the political spectrum.

Now back to softball. I'm sure that tournament will bring in a lot of $$ for the community.
