Anyone else going to NAFA masters Carson City - Sept?

I've been invited to work NAFA Masters Sept 18-20 (without the fear of excommunication from ASA  :D ) Anyone else working west coast NAFA - This is Mens FP in Carson City, NV

That will be fun working for Benjie, Kris and Carley. And it doesn't conflict with any ASA fastpitch. That will be good too :D

Actually, we have a big ASA tourney that weekend but I was cleared to go to this. ie, I called my UIC before accepted to ensure there would be no conflict.

Do you work nafa ball? They just called me, I didnt put in for it and actually only worked 2 NAFA tourneys this year. I only have the blue shirt so they threw in the white shirt to get me to go :D. The rest of NAFA I turned down because I can make more doing JO ball, the games arent as long, etc.

The big thing I like about NAFA is I get to do my own mechanics :D. I try not to look "ASAish" which is not particularly appreciated in my NAFA or ISC circles.

Ability to independently select your work/and ability to select who works...
is a two way street.

As is loyalty.

Thats one thing those who love to play the "independent contractor" card dont get.

One also needs to remember that as an independent contractor, the arbiter/assignor/whatever you call that person is no more required to send work your way as you are to accept it.

Some people tend to occasionally forget that portion. ;)

Thats what I meant by that. Invariably those dudes who whip out the indendent contractor card to leave their assoc in a lurch to go work XYZ's Tourney are crying the loudest when then dont get the call on the not so busy weekends. Independent is a two way street..

I have never worked a NAFA tournament. They are non-existant in Arizona as far as I know. I just enjoy working Men's ball...keeps me on my toes and exercises alot of those game management skills that I don't always get to use.

One of our state deputy UICs used to be very active in ISC...maybe I will give him a call to see if there is any ISC ball around....

How did the event go?

Practicing your hitting skills should be one of your top priorities as a player. Practice makes perfect, sure. That’s because practice improves your muscle memory. And if you do your drills and exercises often enough, they will become second nature to you.

When all the drills, techniques and mechanics become a part of your system, you’ll be performing a lot more consistently compared to your performance if you don’t practice often enough.
