Hitting Drills
My dad told me if I want to keep on doing travel for a very competitive fastpitch team, I need to work more. When I do swing I do soft toss, just using a ti, hitting soccer balls, or on my knees and I swing. Also sometime I do soft toss when my dad is behind me. So I want to do some drills to help and improve my swing. Some of the problems I have is not keeping my eye on the ball, dropping my hands, and popping up during the swing (It's hard to explain) . Please give me some drills that I could do to help.

My advice -- don't leave it in my hands. If it's close with 2 strikes, be swinging! |

Back, way back, when I coached, I found the best warmup drill for keeping your eye on the ball was to practice bunting. Do that first, then work on your swing.
For your swing, do some practicing without a ball. Your muscles become programmed to a particular motion and it will help with your other problems. Finally, keep searching and learning, for the rules you couldn't do better than here, good move. By knowing the rules better you learn to anticipate plays better. Did you know that we have signals that we use to remind each other that certain rules are comming into play? You should do that with your team as well. |
