What's the Ruling?

ASA

Top of the 1st inning. The #1 batter hits a triple. For some reason the batter in the 6 spot comes up to bat and is walked. The batter in the 7th spot comes up and is also walked. The OC notifies the blue she batted out of order. After figuring things out the blue says, “sorry coach the batter in the 6th spot batted out of order and you did not notify me before the next pitch, she's legal”. #8 and #9 strike out.

We have two outs the next batter up is on 3rd. What do you do (try without the help of the book)?

Skip #1 and Bat #2 as next legal batter.

Without looking at the book....Because the batting order was re-established after the first pitch to the #7 batter I would simply skip the #1 batter (because she is on 3rd) and have the #2 batter be the next proper batter.

You could have read a rules book and not have had to type at all.;)
