Throat protector

Rulebook says: A throat protector that is part of or attahed to the mask shall extend far enoughto adequately protect the throat.

How are we supposed to judge that?

I dont know exactly, but if it has the extended throat protector it is allowed. I think everything pretty much has that now and as long as it has the NOCSAE {sic} and extended protection, its good to go.

I could stand to be corrected though.

Adequately protect means a pitch can't fit past the protector and injure the throat.
Judging it is another issue.

Rita, what rulebook are you refering to?

The NFHS rule book has that sentence in Rule 1-7-1.
