2009 Houston ASA Umpire Certification Clinics

Attention ALL ASA Umpires!

2009 certification clinics are now listed on the website @ HoustonASA.org.

Houston ASA is making available to ALL umpires, online registration. For umpires with 3 or more years of experience, you may now register, pay, and complete the umpire test online from the comfort of your own home…or wherever. This convenience comes with a price, of course. That price is the forfeiture to be considered eligible for any ASA Championship play assignments. If you are a veteran umpire and wish to call in ASA Championship play, then you must attend one of the ASA certification clinics. If you are not interested in calling championship play; if you are a volunteer umpire in a youth league; if you do only league ball and do not want to do anything else….and have been an ASA Certified Umpire & Umpiring at least 3 years, then we would suggest you take the test online. Please check with your Local Association assigners for their requirements.

Every umpire, as well as those that want to become umpires, needs to do the following:

1. Go to www. HoustonASA.org (links to register may not be available for 7-14 days)
2. Follow directions for registering with Houston ASA
3. Determine if you are taking the test online or need to attend a clinic
4. If you are taking the test online-follow directions to access the test
5. If you are attending one of the clinics, select which clinic you wish to attend and pre-register
6. Complete registration by paying the registration fee (fee can be paid on site at clinic location or, if desired, you can take the test online). Your certification card will be mailed to you upon completion of all of the clinics.

Umpire uniforms will be available for purchase at all clinic sites from 11am until 1pm only (Denver Harbor times for uniform sales 5pm until 7pm. PERSONAL CHECKS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!

Houston ASA registration fee: $55.00 at the Clinics & $60.00 if registering online (cash, money order, cashiers check or company check if paid in person: NO PERSONAL CHECKS) (If online, credit card ONLY)
