Unfortunately, I am flying stand-by; so it would behoove me to get to the airport fairly early (unless I know there is a flight with light booking). Overall should have minimal problem getting to Atlanta; just don't know when, for sure.

I know Darrell disputes my personal beer philosophy (quantity over quality), as I am perfect content with domestic light beer.

Trust me, I used to brew my own and I've toured so many breweries, it's beer. May not be your type or my type of beer, but it is still beer.

What isn't beer is an IPA. For those unfamiliar with the origins of IPA, it is what the British used to brew for their troops in India when it was part of the colonies. The recipe was developed so that the brewing process would incorporate the time it took to travel from England to India whether on a ship or the back of a horse, elephant or camel.

Using the same recipe for modern day brewing doesn't quite work the same. Then again, I've never been terribly fond of some of the English-brewed bitter ales, so my taste/opinion might be slightly slanted

History lesson aside,,,,,

Just received info about this clinic. As of this past week, including staff and guests, there are 285 umpires registered for this clinic.

Damn, we are going to have a good time.

For the ASA umpires interested. I know at least a few of us will be in attendance and we will get together at some point to share the beverage of your choice.

If you have never been, you will enjoy this. You may also want to check to see if your local UIC will accept this for any required clinics you are required to attend at home.

You must register with the hotel and clinic separately. If you act now, you can get the offered rate at the hotel's web site Oklahoma City Hotels ? Pet Friendly Hotels in Oklahoma City ? Biltmore Hotel OKC assuming they do not block out a certain number of rooms at some point. The room rate is the same for two as it is for three, so a room mate can defer some of your costs.

Your ASA commissioner must endorse your application, so you cannot register directly with the ASA office.

Hope to see quite a few of you out there!

Will be well represented at the Clinic. Unfortunately, we have to return early Sunday for a Mechanics Clinic...that sucks.

What info did you get? I haven't seen anything...

Roll call.

Who will be in OKC this weekend and when do you expect to arrive?

Come on, even you lurkers out there are invited. If you don't want to post, send me a PM just so we can see how many officiating.com folks will be in the house.

Once we get a grip on when most folks will be in town, we can set up some place to meet.

It is always nice to put a face with the name. This is a friendly, argument-free meet. Everyone is welcome, even you, Chuck :D

I will be there; flying stand-by, so I have no idea when I will actually arrive. I will head to the Atlanta airport early, and take the first available seat.

Big Slick Tue Feb 03, 2009 10:33am

Mike, I'll be arriving on Thursday along with the "Brown Pineapple" from your neighboring state in Region 3. And if tradition holds, we will be together for the unofficial Region 3 steak dinner on Friday night.

SRW Tue Feb 03, 2009 12:05pm

I land at 4:45 pm assuming all goes well.

Angler Tue Feb 03, 2009 12:30pm

Plane lands at 3:11. Looking forward to my first clinic. Although I'm sharing a room with SRW....

Is he bringing his blue tele-tubby outfit?
