Flyyyy like an eagle... Into the future...

Then again, it could also be the angle, since you can tell that the camera is lower than his shoulders.

Needs his rear foot planted better, though.

And shut up, 13. He's safe.

Welpe Thu Oct 23, 2008 02:55pm

He needs to stick the landing with BOTH feet...not just one.

Is that one of your programmed responses? :D

One more comment: I really hope nobody takes pictures of me umpiring and puts them on here.

As a certain VP candidate would say (and most of my relatives, for that matter)...

"You betcha!"

Heyyyyyyy...shaddduppa yo face. He learned from one of the best one-footers out there, except I do mine for outs. I dunno where he learned that safe crap. The nice young lady from down the street who has her picture in your NFHS rule book as our umpire rep also does one-footed outs.

Perhaps the three of us are RIGHT and the other 50,000 are WRONG. Ya ever think about that? Huh? Huh? Huh? Didja? ;)

IRISHMAFIA Thu Oct 23, 2008 03:43pm

I hope he filed a flight plan.

Obviously, he shouldn't be running to a play making a signal. Of course, that helps raise the hands and arms above the shoulders.

I hate his plastic, four-wheel indicator and is that a chaw of tobacco between the cheek and jaw?

He did not.

He wasn't. His method is to take a leap-step from the standing position. It gives the impression of him running in still photography, tho.

Comment noted.

I did not have anything in my mouth.

;)

Welpe Thu Oct 23, 2008 04:27pm

It does look like you have a nice pinch of Skoal in there though. ;)

wadeintothem Thu Oct 23, 2008 07:46pm

Wow, he looks pretty good. Love the blue pants and the 4 wheel indicator (I use one myself).

Great poise.

I give him a thumbs up and have no comments.

If you gotta sell the safe, they were out.

Still photography is great, isn't it. Looks like the last move of a tap routine.

Looks like the safe was well communicated. As long as the call was correct, what else matters?

JEL Thu Oct 23, 2008 09:27pm

I got dinged by an evaluator cause my pants "rode up when he went set."

Those are riding a bit as well.

I believe the call!

My wife was half asleep when I read this post. Not anymore! I literally LOLed.

Awful, but funny! :D

Welpe Thu Oct 23, 2008 10:27pm

What are you doing posting in bed?

I see Wade is doing what he does best, scaring children and making them cry.

Nice of you to share a photo of you making a safe call, Wade. I question your approved uniform, but your mechanics look great! Such enthusiasm!

;)

I hope to one day enjoy my officiating as much as that.

Impossible. Not trying to be insensitive, but no one can ever truly be that happy. :)

NCASAUmp Fri Oct 24, 2008 11:16am

Suddenly, the song lyrics came to mind...

Believe it or not, I'm walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer.
Who could it be?
Believe it or not, it's just me....

Yes, I'm old enough to remember that show (and not the re-runs). GOD I loved that show!

Heck...I am older than you and I don't remember that show. Of course, I am not a big TV junkie.

IRISHMAFIA Fri Oct 24, 2008 12:03pm

greatest american hero tv theme lyrics

Greatest American Hero, huh? I was thinking more along the lines of the Sister Bertrille, the Flying Nun! :D

I do - and I even sell the safe - when it's the bottom of the last and that's the game winner:D!

Oh yeah, that is me in the pic!!!

The game was tied 2-2 with no one on base. Bottom of 7. Two outs. 0-2 count.

And she cranked a homer.

I sold that SRWSellSafe like no ones business.
