How about the bats with a double-bend in the handle for those who would swing the bat early?

I tried to swing one once and almost broke my wrist...literally.

I may be wrong on this, but I think they may be referring to something you sometimes see on golf clubs. You know, those little nubs? Or for you target shooters out there, something like a set of Hogue grips? Those aren't a safety problem, as the bat is much less likely to slip out of someone's hands during a swing.

I couldn't picture what they meant, thanks to you now I do! Makes sense now!

Guess one of the grips I referenced showed up at a HS game last night and the umpire didn't allow it and caused a minor rucus.

Good for the umpire, now I'm not the only one in the world who does this now :D
