Droped third strike question

Less that two outs. Hit and run on. Runner on first takes off at the release of the pitch. Batter swings at third strike, catcher drops strike. Is the batter allowed to advance to first? thanks

Ed Maeder Tue May 27, 2008 03:02pm

Batter can advance to first but they would still be out on strikes. First base was occupied at the time of the pitch so batter is out.

argodad Tue May 27, 2008 03:46pm

... and the runner can advance.

Good grief......... I didn't think there were many of us left who are old enuf to remember the old Burma Shave fence post signs. My kids give me that "look" when I mention those.

Ironically enough, that Burma-Shave (ahem) "poem" is preserved by the Smithsonian Institution.

I find them at Walgreens and Longs. It's right next to my Aqua Velva and Vitalis. Don't laugh it's true. When i use my electric shaver I use "Lectric Shave".... I go to a barber shop that only does "traditional cuts".

Burma Shave

Ironic you guys should mention this

Tonight I was on the way to a game in the little town of Social Circle, Georgia. Just before entering the Social Circle city limits there was a old-timey set of Burma Shave signs still standing.

I called a friend of mine just to tell him I was so excited -- and then I get home 4 hours later and look on the forum and whoomp!! -- are you guys clairvoyant or what??

Probably right next to the red barn with the huge proclamation to SEE ROCK CITY! or a wall of bumper stickers urging tourists to VISIT WALLS DRUGS!

It's my personal backlash against metrosexuals, not that there is anything wrong with that.

So I went old school against $50 aftershave .....

Though the crowds are definetly getting older I'm probably the only one at Rob Zombie/Queensryche who is wearing Vitalis. For awhile I used Johnson's hair wax also.... :D

Not to mention "Pedro" and "South of the Border" on I-95.

So... how far away from Chatanooga do those Rock City barns get?

Want to really backlash against the MS. Try just shaving your head, it is so much simpler. :D

Not to mention a hell of a lot cheaper! One-time fee of $12 for a good set of clippers. :D
