R1 on 3rd R2 on 1st, 2 umpire crew I am BU, Shot to Left fielder who makes a nice full stride grab on the ball it rolls around a little she takes 3-4 steps to get under control to throw the ball. Well R1 is off with the first touch, and R2 is heading back and as throw goes toward home she breaks for 2nd. After play coach appeals R1 leaving early, PU signals safe, then they appeal R2 leaving early, I rule safe. Then here is comes "I think you two are watching the touch not the catch" .........Now how can you argue with that???

I assume R2 actually made it back and touched 1st before breaking for second? Your OP doesn't quite read that way.

That's when you say, "Yes, sir. You are 100% correct, we checked the runners on first touch. If you would like to protest, I'll be more than happy to sign your book and announce to all that is why you are protesting the game."

If the light bulb doesn't click on at this point, the coach deserves whatever he may get. ;)

Ya girl tagged up, twice! she was returned to base right after hit (doesn't matter) then remember to "chase the ball" so she lead off again then retouched upon touch eventual catch.

PU did tell coach that inbetween innnings when he casually said something about the touch again, coach had that "huh" look when she told him "well ya we watch the touch that is when the runners are released"

I was PU. R1 advances to 3B on grounder to outfield. BU calls R1 safe. When play stops, the coach requests time out and ask me if I could get help from BU on my call since I was so far away. I told the coach that BU made the call. The coach immediately started asking if he could get a second opinion from me since I had a better view. When I started smiling, he turned and walked away.

I guess I should have ask BU for a second opinion on his own call.

R1, R2, R3, no outs, B4 hits a long shot to Left field bobling catch, R1 tags and leaves on first touch. Appeal to third for leaving early -- I rule safe. Coach ask me to ask the BU for help. (Have you noticed that "can you ask for help" is a new way for coaches to say you blew the call?) I say nope my call all the way runner retouched and is safe. So you're not going to ask for help? Nope no need I clearly saw what I ruled. You're required to ask by rule. Nope only in NCAA on check swings, not in NFHS on appeal plays when my partner has different responsibilities.

Slap hitting!!

10 U FP --

Can tell it's gonna be bad while walking on the field -- home team has barely graduated from coach pitch, the other team has a handful of travel ball dropouts

Visitors' first 3 batters slap the ball -- Home coach and their fans screaming after second batter slaps and coach coming out of the dugout to protest to me (PU) about them "running up on the ball"

I tell them "it's called slap hitting, coach" and she responds "never heard of it!!" and stalks off to find a league administrator to protest the umpires on field #2 allowing such a thing
