Stacey Nuvemann just attempted to protect a runner by swinging at a ball that seemed to be already being pulled out of the catcher's glove. Umpire ruled it a strike.

Thats because thats not called... as I've said in many threads about this form of "Int".

But it did not interfere with the catcher. For that matter, I'm not even sure the catcher realized Nuvey swung the bat.

offense has to do something to cause the defense to react..... if the catcher didnt react.... why is this being discussed
