Opinion on interference call
 

Bases loaded. No outs (doesn't matter). Hitter hits line drive down third and hits her teammate standing on third base. The third base runner is physically standing in foul territory with her foot on the base. What's the call?

need more details to determine fair/foul.

Its not interference in any case unless there was intent to interfere by the runner.

edited to add: (ASA & NFHS rules)

If the ball hit the runner over foul territory, it is a foul ball. If over fair territory, it is a fair ball.

If F5 is playing in front of the base, live ball. If behind, dead ball, award B5 1st base and advance all runners to the base forced.

As previously stated, only if R1 took some action to interfere with the batted ball would INT be possible.

Ah, yeah. Don't think we are going to award bases on a foul ball.

But you know some of our readers, especially those who can take anything out of context ! :rolleyes: :D
