A couple of loooong DH's this weekend

I had two JC DHs this past weekend....

Friday DH - 1st game 2:50
2nd game 1:30

Fortunately, the second game was a five inning run rule and we finished about five minutes before I would have called the game due to darkness (no lights)

BkbJones and SRW, one team was from your neighborhood...Skagit Valley College.

Saturday DH - 1st game 2:05
2nd game 2:15

Both games, the home team held a small lead going to the 7th inning, both games the visitors get enough hits and help from some errors to go ahead and win both games. Maybe the home team coach should try to convince his opponents to only play six innings.....

My guess is that SVCC got their b*tts handed to them in a sling? Did Coach Denny behave?

They played one of our lesser talented JC teams...SVCC won the first game `14-13. One of those back and forth games where neither team wants to hold a lead, 2 or 3 baserunners minimum every inning, 7 or 8 pitches to each batter, lots of errors....that's why it took almost three hours!

Second game SVCC got run ruled 19 - 4. Home team scored 14 runs in the bottom of the second and a few more in the later innings. SVCC did manage to score all four of their runs in the top of the 5th, however.......

Andy.....

Tracy and I went up to Yavapai Sat... we found out Thursday that Glendale only wanted to play ONE game! (hurt pitcher..non-conference matchup). We drove up there... and yup....bottom of the fifth 3 run homer wins it for Yavapai... one game...right at an hour... We spent more time in Buffalo wild wings than working the game!:D ..and got paid for two!!!

But I'm back at South Mountain tomorrow..it will even out....:(

One team wants to give the game away and the other team refuses to take it.

I really don't enjoy those games. :(

I get my first DH tomorrow - unless it snows. And snow showers are being called for.

SRW Wed Mar 26, 2008 01:38pm

I was supposed to have Bellevue CC at Everett CC yesterday. Took the day off, was all psyched... and was actually polishing my shoes when my BlackBerry beeped with an email telling me the games were canceled due to field conditions.

Drat.
