I'm trying to figure out how their masks get so dirty and pick up chalk. Are they suggesting the umpire drop their masks?

Can anyone tell me why I should have both my hands free, when I (as PU) am walking towards the field?

Actually, I much prefer hanging my mask over my belt-holstered cell phone. :p :D :D

While I would not get caught dead with my mask hanging from my belt, as one who suffers from carpal tunnel syndrome, the glove for my left hand when I am behind the plate might not be a bad idea.

Perhaps the glove can be an instrument used by the UIC for reaching up the umpire's a$$ who wears it to pull out his teeth.

And with the hook, I can see it now... "Hey, Blue? Are you going to buy my catcher a nose job and a new eyeball? It was your hook that caused that damage when she fell over because she tripped on your mask that you tossed aside. Yes Blue, your mask. The one lying there on the chalk line."
