The Official Forum - More: 6 dumb comments on one play

To set the situation:
1st batter of a mens SP league (Lefty) in game 2 of the Championships. . .swings down at the first pitch driving it into the ground about 5-8 feet from Home goes FOUL from down the 3B line. . .I warn him about the Chopped swing. .SECOND swing of the game he does it again!!! I give him another more stern warning (my first mistake, I should have called him out for a chopped ball with the first swing). . .He comes up 2 AB's later and does it again ARE YOU KIDDING ME, YOU DONT THINK I AM LOOKING FOR IT!!!. . . I immediately call Dead Ball, Chopped Ball. . .he goes ballistic for 5 minutes. . .since I was a hot head player years back, I let him vent for a bit. . .Then I had enough and started to go to the captain when I heard the following dumb comments of the year:

1)HOw the hell do you call that in a Championship Game. . to which I responded "I dont care if it was the World Series, its an illegal swing"
2) Hey Blue then where's my warning. . .to which HIS Captain responded "he gave you 2 in the first inning"
3) You can only call a chopped ball if I dont swing fully
4) Its the speed of my swing that determines a chopped ball
5) I have batting like this for 20 years
6) You wont be umpiring in this league ever again

At this time, I am laughing to myself wondering when I should toss him from the game. . . .Sensing that I about to toss him, I hear two other guys yelling from his bench . . ."John shut up he warned you twice in the first inning you jacka@@."
