I was not impressed
New partner, second year, "lots of school ball" this year, has to borrow indicator and brush, as BU never goes near PP.
I'm PU, after 1st inning, comes to where I'm standing and asks if batted ball is dead if it hits HP, then needs explanation of fair/foul in batters box. Then, calls a runner safe at 2nd (correctly), but DC asks BU for help from me about force vs. tag; comes to me with "what does he mean?". Next game, newbie has plate with HSM, no cap, almost never removes mask, rarely comes out, brushes plate with back to backstop, signals undetectable from BU position, etc. UIC and I both offer to spend time helping with learning duing break, but newbie goes to watch some other game and never reappears. |
BR hits grounder to SS, hustles to 1st. BU in position, SS muffs ball, finally picks it up and throws. BU judges that BR will beat throw, reacts too soon and starts to signal safe. BU realizes the throw gets there in time, stops signal, yells and signals out (third to end inning). Much yelling and complaining by offense team, including "once called safe, she stays safe"
Finally, BU says to offense coaches "yes, I was wrong to judge too soon and signal too soon, but the call is right, she is out". Not impressed by (1) jumping the call, don't know about (2) comment to coaches. What do you think about (2)? |
Why do you feel it necessary to comment/critique others? Why do you need our opinions?

His actions are all pretty much Self-explanatory..but I have no issue with him admitting that he kicked one.... but after you admit it..you better bust your *** to be in position, and sell every close call.
