Softball Base Runner

My daughter is a softball player - 3rd string varsity pitcher.
Since she rarerly plays what are the softball rules for base runners?
Most of the time she sits on the bench; however, she is a very fast runner and and an excellent slider. Her running time down to 1st base is usually between 2.6 to 3.0 seconds. Can she be a base runner for any player without being put into the batting line up? What High School rules apply to courtesy runners and substitution runners?

Thank you

Rule 8-9 for courtesy runners and Rule 3-3 for all substitutes.

Yes, she can be a courtesy runner for either the catcher or the pitcher (but not both in the same game). No for any other player.

Technically, no. According to NFHS rules, she may run as a substitute for a person on base, and she will be listed in that person's position in the batting order for the time she is in the game. Does your daughter ever have to bat? No. Immediately after she completes her running duties, the coach my re-enter the original batter back into the game. Your daughter would still have one re-entry at this point.
