no game but interesting day today
 

Weathered out of a couple of games today - again. I've had a half dozen college indoor scrimmages but have had all of my games so far either snowed out or rained out. Some of next week's schedule is already canceled.

Since it's Saturday, a couple of umpire friends & I made a drive to the outlet store of the factory that makes plate shoes for some of the bigger names. They each found a pair but I didn't - guess my feet are a popular size. They got patent leather plate shoe blems for $55. It kind of shot the whole day, but we had a lot of fun.

Just curious where this store is located and what type of plate shoes do they sell?

The store is just south of Altoona, Pa and they had shoes today made for +POS. Previously, I have bought Gerry Davis shoes there.

Hey Steve. We are having the same problems here in S.E. PA with rainouts/snowouts.Lost all scrimmages last week and games on Friday and Saturday.Hopefully I can get out on the field tomorrow(Monday)for a H.S. game.I am ready for the season to start.

Yeah, I think it's only western Pa that has actually been on the field. I've got a HS game Tuesday, we're getting enough fever that my partner went & checked the field today. Here's hoping we're actually going to get onto the field.
I think I'm down your way next Saturday - at Kutztown.
