Has anyone umpired or played any World Softball League (WSL) games that could tell me about their rules. Do they use ASA rules?

Thanks
Lupe Lozano,
ASA Umpire

Their web site: http://www.worldsoftballleague.com/

Go to the main page ASA web site for a blurb about ASA teaming up with WSL at: http://www.softball.org/

Although I didn't see anything specifically I imagine they use ASA rules.

I umpired the WSL Slowpitch World Series in Panama City in the past 2-3 years. We wore ASA uniforms and played by ASA rules.

Yep, a real world serious slow pitch tournament.

I'm not exactly clear on what you meant by that, but it was indeed a very competitive tournament from all over North America.

What he meant is that you would have looked MUCH more professional (and probably be taken more serious) If you are NOT wearing shorts.... There is a reason shorts arent worn at ASA Nationals.....

Jane, you ignorant slut. We wore what the proper uniform was at the time. I understand now that pants are required for slow pitch Nationals which I respect.

However, at that time the UIC instructed us to wear shorts as the proper uniform. No one there would have taken us more seriously if we had covered our legs. That is beyond absurd. Please do not pass judgment on something you know absolutely nothing about.

I have no doubt it was very competitive. However, my point was pretty much along the same as Darrell's.

As much as I wear shorts when umpiring locally and allow them during State Tournaments, I just don't believe they are appropriate for A tournament is billed at such a high level

Like many other considerations, TC - What is his audience and what impression does he want to make? That will help decide what he wears. Hmmm, kinda like what impression do umpires want to make on a given field.
