Trophy

This is a pic I took at a church who had won a softball tourney. Sorry for the (camera phone) quality. I will proceed to let you have at this one. How many discrepancies from real life can you find?

Is that the umpire that is standing? If so, he is holding his mask in the wrong hand. Also, that is a terrible safe (I assume) call he is giving. He is also just a tad too close to the play....heck....he IS the play.

Looks like he's calling a foul ball with mask in the wrong hand.

Yep, but isn't he also still wearing a mask? So having one in his (wrong) right hand AND another one before his face...

Heck, it looks to me like he is signalling "touchdown!"

Whats the deal with his sleeves? One looks rolled up, the other looks like a 3/4 sleeve.

It doesn't look like the runner has a legal helmet on - 'though that could have
come off legally, depending on the age group that's playing.

At least the PU has shined shoes................

Don't want to get into a discussion as to how/when the catcher should block the plate, but the guy in the trophy will lose a knee (or worse)........soon.

A little shift - Hijacking my own thread

Questions
1-3. Where do the trophy co.s get these images? Are they posed? Do they come from photos?

4-6. Why don't they use a depiction of correct mechanics? Are they trying to be over the top with safe call (pun intended)? Did the models for the statue get paid for their work and if so can I get in on that deal?:D

The umpire doesn't have a huge gut hanging over his belt...

Actually, I think that is exactly what we have. Clearly this is not a safe call. The umpire is calling time. What we did not see was the delayed dead ball signal for obstruction by the catcher. A play has now been made on the runner and the umpire is about to declare the obstruction and award the runner home.

As for the dual-mask, I will guess that this game was played on the planet Endor and that just might be Darth Vadar working the plate. On the play in question, The Republic (the catcher is Han Solo) is on defense (the runner is a storm trooper) which brings the validity of the obstruction call into question.

I guess i see it different from the rest of you. I see the umpire celebrating a win with arms raised and yelling "we win, we win".
