In ASA RB it uses both term and mit in FED book no mention of the term mit just max demension of of glove. Is what is commonly refered to as a "first basemen mit" a glove or a mit? and is legal if it met demension requirements in fed book for any fielder under fed rules?

Terry, I'm not aware of any restriction on the use of mits in Fed (or USSSA) softball as long as they are = to or less than the measurements of the glove. Pony softball restricts the use of mits to F2 and F3. Roger Greene, Member UT |

				Gloves/Mitts

Terry, Roger is correct, NFHS Rule 1, Sec 3, Art 6. breaks it down 2001 Rule book, and not sure, but do not think that that rule changed for 2002. Roger says this rule is same in USSSA, I cannot agree nor disagree because I have never seen their rule book. Most other associations specify mitts only for catchers and first basepersons. (If they so desire, dont think that Mitts are mandatory.) glen
