She Loves Me

Now that I am doing NSA as well as NFHS, I told my wife that I needed a place for my softball ruleboks et cetera. I can't keep it in the brown manila envelope it came in. She has gone out to Hobby Lobby to find an organizer for me to use for my stuff. She is not comfortable coming to watch me call a game but this is a really cool thing.

My girlfriend hated that I was gone many weekends doing fast pitch. I started giving her the money so she could shop while I was gone. She loved it... a reason to shop.

Only "problem" was that 90% of the stuff she bought was for me... mauve oxfords, pleated gabardines and tassle loafers. I sure do miss my brogans, dockers and "broken in" golf shirts. :)

Nah nah na nah na!!

My girlfriend calls with me! The wife even allows it!

(they are one in the same!)

My "better half" is probably the most unlikely person in the world to call a game, either with me or by herself.

She won't even sit close to the field when she watches a game because she is afraid of getting nailed by a foul ball! We have gone to Major League games and had nice box seats, but then she wants to go up and sit in the upper deck- and she will STILL cringe when a pop foul heads for the stands.

But she is a trooper. A few years ago I talked her into being on the roster for my co-ed slow pitch team. We were having a hard time finding extra female players and I figured she might work in an emergency. Sort of a "double-secret, last-resort, fill-in-the-gap, deep, deep, deep right fielder".

Her softball feats came up in a conversation after the season and someone asked her what position she played.

Before she could answer, I blurted out, "Warm body!".

Ignoring the personal slant, I always prefered FP (forfeit preventer) when I played that position.

West Virginia....Arkansas....yeah, sounds compatible.

CecilOne Sat Aug 19, 2006 09:47am

As long as the OP was about sanctions, just for fun I made a list of my sanctions and associations and came up with this:
Current Sanctions: NFHS, NCAA, ASA, PONY
Current Assoc. : MPSSAA, DIAA(aka DSSAA), DSUA, UUA, HARSOA, NASO
Past: DSOA, DSRA, USSF, IAABO, BBOA, NNLL
Almost: NSA, USSSA (i.e., clinic - no games accepted), NISOA

OK what's the problem here? Both states are filled with rednecks. Both states have a lot of mobile homes. We both like sports - including basketball. We both like dogs. We're both outdoors type people. And she's good looking - what more is there?

Did I say it was a problem? You know how much people from Delaware like WV, especially Huntington.

Hell, I love visiting Arkansas. Just need to stay away from the Eureka Springs hillbillies.:)

You would love Hot Springs. Probably would have liked it better 20 years ago, but it's still okay.

Well, let's say some Delaware football folks believe Huntington (Marshall) to be the epitome of a degrading WV stereotype where it is not only fashionable to be sore losers, but sore winners, also!

Well, we Mountaineer fans think they are a bunch of whiney-a$$ babies! I think they'll be disappointed when they play in Morgantown on Sept. 2nd! My ex-wife went to Marshall - yet another reason the marriage didn't work. . .

Speaking of marriage, where's Sara??

It was a long weekend and I didn't even touch a computer. (I suppose that is a good thing seeing that's what I do for a living)

W. Virginia and Arkansas? I don't see a problem either.:D
