We were watching a TV show which included a scene of a youth baseball game. There was a big sign which said:

PARENTS,
YOUR CHILDREN ARE WATCHING

I though it was a neat idea.

I attended a MLB game yesterday in very hot weather, around 90 degrees, probably even hotter on the field.
I noticed that none of the base umpires drank any water during the whole 2 hr 50 min game, except when someone from the visitor dugout took some to the 3rd base ump and I think that was actually soda. Didin't see the PU drink anything either, but didn't watch all the time.

I was able to watch their positioning and rotations a bit, though.

WOW! I love that. I'm going to suggest to our LL district to have signs made and give them to each league for their fields!

I also saw that show. It left out the part that mattered (for the plot of the show)...
COACHES,
YOUR PARENTS ARE TAPING

"Close to Home" on CBS, in case anyone was wondering.

Not even during the 7th inning stretch?

On the show... I also liked the way the umpire showed up to be interviewed by the police / ADA (amazing how these crime shows make everybody a detective... but I digress...) several days later in his umpire hat. ;)

He did kind of break the case with his observant parting comment, and he did mention getting his gear and heading for the car as desired. My wife commented about the glasses in his shirt pocket which she needles me about. Of course, we only need them for reading, not umpiring. :p

Maybe I was too busy with the crowd rendition of God Bless America, led by a very talented young man, and the standing still players
