ASA Slow Pitch -- Legal Pitch??

In ASA Slow Pitch softball...

1 ) Is the pitcher required to bring the ball behind his/her hip before starting the forward motion?

2 ) Is the pitcher allowed to start thier delivery by swinging the ball in a backward motion between their legs then delivering the ball to the plate as if shooting a free throw "granny style".

Rule 6, Section 3

D. The pitcher must deliver the ball toward home plate on the first forward swing of the pitching arm past the hip with an underhand motion....

F. The pitcher must not pitch the ball behind the back or through the legs.

I know what my interpretation of the above is, I'm curious as to what yours are.

Yes, as long as it is from the bare hand.

That is a restriction, not a requirement

I would think that means "pitched" or thrown between the legs. Since I doubt the ball is actually being released from behind the leg in your situation, it's legal as far as I'm concerned.
