Coach Throws His Cap
 

1st round playoff game. The 1 seed versus the 8 seed. Division 3 game. Ugh high schools with about 1000 students. Nice evening, crowd of about 200-250 people. Both teams were one town high schools so it was pretty charged up. I am watching with some other Blues.

BU calls girl out for leaving the base too soon. She was on 3b and the squeeze was on. 3RD base coach starts yelling-nothing unusual-but then he throws his hat over the fence into the crowd. The Blues let this go. Do you guys think this should have been addressed ? Or is this a case of don't go looking for boogers ?

He must have just graduated.

I would ignore this. He could easily be throwing the cap because his player didn't run fast enough.

I'd let it go also. Coaches are allowed to be emotional.

I'd let it go. I would however say something between innings about the example he's setting for the kids.

why? IMHO, THAT would be looking for boogers. I'm sure parents and administrators would give him plenty of admonishment for his actions.

Either:
1) there was a bee about to sting a spectator
2) he is running for office and though it was the ring

I promise you that of all the conversations I will ever have with a coach, one telling him how to behave in front of his kids is the LAST one I want to have. Who the heck am I to tell him he needs to be an example for his kids. Yuck.

Me, too. Leave that to the:

- parents
- league
- school admin
- state high school association

as appropriate.
