Carpet question
What is the size of the carpet the umpire places behind home plate in a co-ed city slowpitch game?

This is not a "normal" rule practice by national organizations, so if you mention the city, perhaps someone familiar with it could help. |
Small city
Its just for the city of Jamestown, NY. I just want to practice on my pitching on off practice days in my back yard. I wasn't really sure how big the mat/carpet was. I've been told its 18", 24"....I just want to be sure.

carpet question
Nasty,
With the advent of the use of the mat in most senior associations across the country (slowpitch), there has been a standardization of sorts. The mat is ordinarily sized at 17" (the width of home plate) by 24" and in most areas of the country is placed in such a manner as to transform home plate into a rectangle measuring 17" x 25 1/2". Hope this helps out. |
