A, B, C. Slots
 

I see this used all the time and I have some questions but first I need to get this terminolgy down.

A slot = foul territory 15-18 feet behind 1B. Correct ?
B slot = behind and to the left of 2B correct ?
C slot = behind the shortstop Correct ?

I'll post my questions after i nail these down .

Yes, but in B, you should be where you are comfortable and, more often than not, particularly in the FP game, the left side will be preferred.

I often find that my comfortable C position is nowhere near being actually behind the shortstop, but perhaps more in line where a major league baseball shortstop might play. It seems I'm often a good 5-7 steps left (my left) of shortstop, and shortstops are often closer to third base than 2nd.

These are all the BU positions I remember seeing
A = outside 1st base line
B = between 1st and 2nd (B1 or B2, left or right of F4)
C = between 2nd and 3rd (C1 or C2, left or right of F6)
D = outside 3rd base line
C3 = occasionally for inside 3rd base line, right of F6 and F7
