ASA in NC

I got involved in umpiring through the NCHSAA last year as the result of being a football official. I love it. I will be 45 years old this year and feel like I am way way behind in getting training and instruction. In reading the posts on this forum, I can see that the guys who work ASA seem to be as smart and well trained as anyone. Our local clinics are okay but there is VERY LITTLE field work and not much in the way of mechanics. Don't get me wrong, I like my association but I want and need more training. When I read the posts, I am reading years of experience that I am trying to glean but it still cannot replace good teaching and clinics. So, is there ASA ball in NC and is it too late to get on that train this year? Where could I go for the very best training without attending the baseball schools that charge through the wazoo?

Thanks for any help.
