Had four games in a good HS tournament today. All plate's. Games
were 55 finish batter.

Game 1 - 3-2, OBS at the plate gave up the winning run. No argument from coach
of obstructing team.

Game 2 - 5-3, had coaches interference and batter hitting ball second time
with bat and out of box.

Game 3 - 2-1, great game, long HR. Still going, I think.

Game 4 - 11-0, and nothing happened.

Have six tomorrow, three pool and three bracket.

Scott, hold the rain in your area until we finish.

Glen,

We will hold the rain until late Friday evening. Expecting rain to continue through Saturday night.

College tourney starts tomorrow morning. 13 games scheduled for Friday & Saturday.

85 degrees today - 42 expected high for tomorrow

And I wonder why I have sinus trouble.

She, coach, grabbed runner to stop her from going home.

You heard what Gary said. We are doing our best to keep it north of us. However...it is looking sort of bleak this morning.

After freezing last night in 30 mph north winds, I just as soon have the weather come in and cancel tonight's games and the tournies this weekend. Cold, wet weather and I just don't get along.

The irony of yesterdays games is, it was 81 degrees(27 degrees celsius debeau) at gametime. By the end of the first game (little over an hour) it had dropped to 62(17). We got the varsity game underway as quickly as we could, but still, by the end of that contest it was 45(7) with subfreezing wind chills.

Thanks guys .
Woke up this morning 6am for a glorious sunny day .
Already 18 degrees .
Looking forward to 4 games , first game 9am .
Lots of travel time ( 5 minutes to the park ) 15 if I walk
Jealous ?

Fahrenheit to Celsius:
85F = about 29 C

85-32 divided by 1.8 = Celsius
So in one of the above examples, the temperature was 29C, next day 7C.

Right now in Seattle it is 0C.

Celsius, like the metric system, is too easy. When it's freezing, it's zero. When it's boiling, it's 100.

Yeah you guys like it the hard way .
You even drive on the wrong side of the road

That's the same temperature we have here in North Texas right now.

Gawd forgive me, but I do NOT miss those "blue northers" in TX, OK, etc.

I do, however, miss getting to go to the store and get the Blue Bell "Flavor of the Month."

Tis a treat indeed!!! I am still a big Tin Roof fan, myself!

Worst part is that it was 80 degrees yesterday. I left work at 4:30, it was 78... went to buy something and left the store 15 minutes later... it was 71. Got home half an hour later, it was 58. Went out to help my youngest get off the trampoline a half hour later and it was FREAKING COLD. Now we're worried about ice tonight and tomorrow...

God I love Dallas.

Scott, Gary,

Got all six in today. No rain. The weather was in the 40's with a slight
wind. However, I purchased the new long sleeve powder blue shirt, and it
works great. Had my 50/50 and just that shirt on all day. Almost had to
take it off. Had 4 plates and two bases. Might even get my four in
tomorrow including the championship game.

2 great games in 23 degrees with a cooling easterly breeze .
First game ( televised ) I based and partnered with a colleague who is an ISF Ump .
Good tight zone which promoted a hitting game .
Final score amazingly 18-16 with 5 over fence home runs 3 times clearing loaded bags .
I plated the next , again a tight zone up and down but batters box to batters box .
Sore 8-4 with 3 home runs .
Lots of action around the bases .
I have found with this zone there is more action as the batter waits , the pitcher does not dominate and has to be more accurate . Give them the insides and outs they dont moan ( as much ) and its is great for spectators and Umps .
I dont care who wins I just like the action .
Only 1 midweek game this week on Monday .
% days without softball is a long time . Envy you guys who can , if they choose Ump every day/night .

The problem with Celcius is I can never remember if it is Celcius or Centigrade!

That, and it is just to sterile and without character.

Gabriel Fahrenheit - there was a real scientist, not some Frog bueraucrat!

He took as his zero point the lowest temperature he measured in the harsh winter of 1708 through 1709 in his home town of Gdañsk (Danzig). (He was later able to reach this temperature under laboratory conditions using a mixture of ice, ammonium chloride and water.) Fahrenheit wanted to avoid the negative temperatures which Ole Romer's scale had produced in everyday use. Fahrenheit fixed his own body temperature as 100 °F (normal body temperature is closer to 98.6 °F, suggesting that Fahrenheit was suffering a fever when he conducted his experiments or that his thermometer was not very accurate), and divided his original scale into twelve divisions; later dividing each of these into 8 equal subdivisions produced a scale of 96 degrees. Fahrenheit noted that his scale placed the freezing point of water at 32 °F and the boiling point at 212 °F, a neat 180 degrees apart.

Celcius, on the other hand, merely uses water in standard conditions to establish the scale. Where is the story in THAT? Only the French would be impressed.

I was at a D-II DH in Valdosta GA on Saturday. Left the park at 3:00 pm -- 83 F (28C). Got to Pensacola at 7:30 -- 46F (8C). And yes, my nose was stuffed up on Sunday.
