The 2012 Olympic Games in London are scheduled to begin on 7/27/2012 or 27/07/2012 as it would be posted in the UK.
I would suggest that a World Cup be conducted the week immediately prior to or week of the opening ceremony.
The week after would interfere with a bundle of national tournaments and the opening of HS softball seasons in some areas.
